Technical Support and Networking Content and Differences
A+, CCNA and Network+ are globally recognized as top foundation level certifications. Interested in certification for career development? Then we must ask questions. How relevant are they to your needs? Are some superior to others? What gives them substance? Let’s look at the differences.


A+ Certification
A+ is an entry-level certification that provides technical support skills i.e. candidates can assemble, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computer systems; and also connect the system(s) to a simple/ small network or the Internet. The candidates at the end of the training will be able to set up a system(s) and a small network (of about 2 to 15 computers) and provide basic security for each respectively.

The successful candidates can work in any environment where computer systems are used be it an office, school or cybercafe. Also have the ability to set up and manage a small office or cybercafe network with a few computers.

Network+ Certification

Network+ provides a broad knowledge of networking, both for hardware and software aspects. It builds on prior knowledge of technical support skills for a candidate to be efficient. It provide skills necessary to design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot small-medium computer networks. Candidates are exposed to a wide range of network technologies at intermediary level of which, they have to choose an area(s) of specialty.
Candidates will be able to work in any networked environment, with ability to set up, manage, and secure, small – medium computer networks (having 10 to 30+ computers; usually without routers) and have a solid foundation to move on to other certifications such as CCNA or MCITP etc.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
CCNA is an entry-level specialist training based on network hardware and advanced networking software (Internetworking Operating Systems, IOS). It builds on basic networking skills for a candidate to be able to be efficient. CCNA provides necessary skills required to create and support internetworks using specialized devices such as routers & manageable switches and advanced software (IOS) that run on them.
The exit profile of successful candidates will be ability to create, manage and secure internetworks (such as in a company that offers Internet connection services or large organizations as banks).
